With a climate and oil crisis upon us, clearly it is no time to be providing the approval for outmoded and now inappropriate projects like tollways, tunnels, energy guzzling De-Sal plants and channel deepening that serve ONLY to entrench the problem and which cause massive destruction of local environments under the watch of these politicians.
Government must listen to the advice from climate experts and progressive economists NOW who are saying that we must start NOW to do things very differently.
That means no more of the same old hat projects borne of previous centuries. Otherwise in coming years we will be building another fossil fuel guzzlling power station to power the De-Sal plant, beating back the waves from hundreds of thousands of coastal properties whilst cursing the big hole in Port Phillip Bay dug for mega ships that never came, and riding down our massive tollways by horse and cart.
